Banana Bread

Another all-star recipe from Grandma Drine's kitchen! There are many banana bread recipes, but this one is awesome! Like the Cherry Nut Bread, Grandma made this without nuts for the kids and grandkids, and with nuts for Grandpa Lowell!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 bananas or 4, overripe if possible
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup walnuts chopped, or other nut of your choice

Equipment

  • Cake tester

Method
 

  1. Stir together all ingredients until well-mixed.
  2. Pour batter into a loaf pan. Tap the pan gently on the counter a few times to help remove air bubbles.
  3. Bake for approximately 60 minutes at 350° until cake tester comes out clean.
  4. Let cool and slice to serve. Store in tin foil or saran wrap.
