Crisp Sugar Cookies

These delicious sugar cookies can be frosted in a variety of ways and used for any occasion (or none at all!). They have always been the kingpin of our Christmas cookie assortments. Decorating them is fun for children from 1 to 101!

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 3 cups flour sifted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Method
 

  1. Mix butter, eggs, sugar, and flavorings.
  2. Add sifted dry ingredients
  3. Chill
  4. Roll out thin and cut with cookie cutters into desired shapes.
  5. Place on lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 375° for 5-6 minutes. Do not let them turn brown.
  6. Decorate as desired. Be fun and creative. Anyone can do it!.
