Chocolate Layered Dessert

A dreamy, multi-layered chocolate dessert with a buttery nut crust, fluffy cream cheese layer, rich chocolate pudding, and a Cool Whip topping. Easy to make ahead and perfect for feeding a crowd — a sweet, crowd-pleasing finish to any meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup peanuts chopped fine (or other nut of your choosing)
  • 2 cups Cool Whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 2 pkgs chocolate pudding instant
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 chocolate bar milk or dark chocolate (optional)

Method
 

  1. Mix flour, butter, and nuts and press into a 9×13" pan.
  2. Bake 15 minutes at 375°. Allow to cool.
  3. Combine 1 cup of the Cool Whip, powdered sugar, and cream cheese. Beat until fluffy, then spread evenly on top of crust.
  4. Make instant pudding with milk and pudding mix as directed on pudding package. Spread evenly as the third layer of the dessert.
  5. Spread remaining Cool Whip on top. Refrigerate.
  6. Cut into pieces to serve. Optionally garnish with chocolate shavings from the chocolate bar.
